,

Google has rebranded its Bard chatbot as Gemini, powered by a new artificial intelligence, and introduced a paid subscription service, Gemini Advanced. This move positions Google to compete with Microsoft in the burgeoning market for AI subscriptions.

U.S. customers can subscribe to Gemini Advanced for $19.99 per month, offering access to the more powerful Ultra 1.0 AI model.
Subscribers also receive two terabytes of cloud storage, typically valued at $9.99 per month, and will soon have access to Gemini in Gmail and Google’s productivity suite.

Google’s offering follows Microsoft’s and OpenAI’s AI subscription services, priced at $20 per month in the U.S.
The move signifies increasing competition in the consumer AI subscription market, catering to users seeking advanced generative AI technology.

Gemini’s integration with cloud storage, Gmail, and other Google services aligns with users’ workflow, enhancing productivity.
Google aims to leverage its large base of Android users by making Gemini accessible through Android devices and plans to introduce it to the Google iPhone app.

Gemini Advanced is initially available in English across 150 countries, with plans for expansion.
The smartphone rollout will extend internationally to regions like Asia-Pacific and Latin America, with additional language support in Japanese and Korean.

The rebranding from Bard to Gemini signifies Google’s AI evolution and marks the beginning of a new era for the chatbot.
The name change reflects Google’s commitment to advancing AI technology and providing innovative solutions to users.

Google’s launch of Gemini and the introduction of its paid subscription service represent significant steps in the company’s AI strategy. By offering advanced AI capabilities and seamless integration with its ecosystem, Google aims to capture a substantial share of the consumer AI subscription market.
