Apple Music Beta Testing New Feature: Seamless Playlist Import from Other Services

Apple Music is reportedly beta testing a new feature that enables users to easily import playlists from other music streaming services, such as Spotify, using a third-party service called SongShift. This integration is currently being tested in the beta version of Apple Music on Android, as per reports from Reddit users.

SongShift, a well-established third-party service, allows users to transfer music libraries and playlists across different streaming platforms effortlessly. With SongShift, users can seamlessly migrate playlists between services like Apple Music and Spotify.

The beta version of Apple Music on Android now presents users with a prompt, asking if they want to “add saved music and playlists made in other music services to your Apple Music library.” Additionally, there’s a new option within Apple Music’s settings on Android to facilitate this process.

This integration, powered by SongShift, suggests that Apple is streamlining the transition process for users switching from rival services to Apple Music. Although currently limited to the beta version of Apple Music for Android, this feature signals Apple’s commitment to enhancing the user experience across its music platform.

While it remains uncertain whether SongShift integration will extend to Apple Music on iPhone, Apple typically maintains feature parity between its Android and iOS applications. Therefore, there’s potential for this functionality to be introduced on Apple Music for iPhone in the future.
